Multilight - Pub Bar

1 . INTRODUCTION

Hi! My name is Visar Shllaku and I am 29 years old. I live and work in Kosovo as an architect. I enjoy making models and rendering which was not an interest of mine in the past. I like to report and present my work in the best possible way to the people. I'll give you a brief description of my work experience.

I designed many projects and models but they were usually not a satisfactory. I had a lack of equipment to finish them properly. I was always looking for something real and powerful to present my models in a more professional way. I heard about Maxwell Render and I was interested to try it out. The results were fascinating. I was amazed at the effect it had on my models. Maxwell-Render changed my life. Now rendering is a big obsession for me.

In this tutorial I will present to you one of my ideas. This is a model of a Pub Bar which i made with ArchiCAD and I continued to render it with Maxwell Render. As is shown in the image below, first I sketched my initial image on paper and then I add ideas that come to mind.

Drawing

After I have made my ideas clear, the second step for me is to make the model on the computer. Usually I use ArchiCAD for this part of my project. In ArchiCAD I make my models more realistic. I complete all the parts and then the model is ready for the next step.

Hi visar,
thank you for this tutorial. I've a question: you wrote "When I saved the element in GDL format I could choose to save them as a group or seperate"
How? Where i can choose this option in Archicad (11?). Thanks Fabio

Hi Fabio,
When you made a gdl element you can make it as one or with seperated pieces. For example, if you make a table model, afer a modeling you can save the parts separated or as whole element. In this scene i modeled lights, and saved them as one element in GDL, and if we select them they will be select as one, its simply try it! Make a simply model, for example a wall, multiply it (ex. 5 walls), view top of the model and save them as GDL. And thats one model!
I hope you understand me, if no, please contact me again.

hey Visar,
it's really a great tutorial, i really learned a lot... i just want to ask, after the rendering finished, the final output looked grainy, its not so sharp and it kinda looks pixelated in some sort, bottom line it didnt produce a clear image, what seems to be the problem and how can i remedy this? - thanks

Hi Shadow,
This is the answer from NL Team:
"Maxwell works in a different way to others renders. You set the time or Sampling Level depending if you have a test. For example, if you want a simple image I advice you set the time to 100000 and sampling level to 18 and when the image is clean stop the render and save the image and save the mxi. If you have an animation you need to know how many time is rendering a frame. When you know the time when the image is clear, stop the render and set your animation with a time for each frame and sampling level 18. Surely you don´t get this value of sampling level because it is a high value. When the time is finished , it will go to the next frame."
